A note to the impatient

Almost every time i check out the *Nados Chat, there's the marks of some brain-impaired sod, complaining that...

[Wed 02:01] Brother 22 {{{{{ : lets get it working Nados

[Wed 02:01] Brother 22 <{{{{{< : has logged off.

[Wed 06:48] llama : has logged on!

[Wed 06:49] llama : okay! you know what!, lets through this chat site into the trash bin...
BECAUSE IT'S GARBAGE!!

[Wed 06:50] llama : this is the stupidest chat site i have ever been too! *gone*

[Wed 06:50] llama : has logged off.

[Wed 21:11] Brother 22 {{{{{{ : has logged on!

[Wed 21:12] Brother 22 {{{{{{ : STILL DONT WORK!!!!!

[Wed 21:12] Brother 22 {{{{{{ : has logged off.

Well, listen guys: The Chat does work. The only thing is that there's almost never any one there! That's right! I've written about this in the "fine print" below!

So before you nag the next time, take a look at the time marks. That's the stuff at the beginning of each line. If your timestamp differs vastly from the one that was there "just before you", then chances are that that person ain't there anymore. Bite dust. Oh, and the times marked are local time, that is Finnish Time. It's said somewhere on this page. Keep reading.

*Nados Chat is a tad faster

This service has become slower since the administrator of this system thinks the Chat takes too much of our machine's resources. The update rate is now 15 seconds, while it used to be 5 seconds. Well, it was tuned-down to 42 seconds for some time, and 15 secs is surely better...

If you want faster updating, you can always choose Refresh/Reload frame with your browser.

OK, let's go

Oh vey, hooray! It's a brand new feature on *Nados - Nados Realtime Chat, firmly based on QuikChat 3.0 and will probably be banned from this server as soon as the administrators find that it's me that load them with an astronomical hitrate..

Anyways, the Chat isn't that unlike (a vastly simplified) IRC. The big difference being that you can only send messages, no fancy /commands and that there is but one channel here (local limitation - i wouldn't think that we need more than one of them anyways..)

One tiny limitation: you will need a frames-compatible browser for the Chat to work. I am yet to see a frames-supporting Lynx, but hopefully there'll be one out soon :) Until then, i am sorry, Lynx people, you have to be left out :(

There be rules

Be nice or be kicked. Stay legal and use common sense. Thanks.

PLEASE use the LOGOFF button when you're done chatting. It's polite both to the Chat system and to other users.
